Description

Program Description

Fiji has over 700 primary and 150 secondary schools in both the public and private sectors. The majority of expats send their children to private schools, with the majority choosing international schools in Sigatoka or Nadi. Public schools in Fiji are open to expat enrollment, but they are rarely used due to erratic educational standards. Furthermore, parents are often hesitant to send their children to these schools because the curriculum is one-sided, and children who move in and out of school systems may find the experience limited. While public schools are theoretically mixed-race, socioeconomic factors and the geographic distribution of ethnic groups mean that the schools frequently consist of a single race in practice. In many villages, there will be a small school with teachers doing their best to serve students at various educational levels.

Kids Club

During the school holidays, we organize a kids’ club to provide a fun and educational experience for children during their breaks. The kids club takes place in community halls and is open to children aged 5 to 16 years old. Each week, the children are taught a specific theme, which is then further divided into subtopics to make learning easier for them. The club’s activities typically run from Monday to Friday, starting at 9 am and ending at 2:30 pm. In the afternoons, you, with the assistance of local coordinators, plan the lessons for the following day.

Furthermore, on Fridays, the kids’ club focuses on Sports Education, offering an exciting and active way for the children to engage and learn.
