Description

Program Description

We began the construction project to assist the local community by sheltering those in need and beginning to rebuild some of the damage caused by the cyclone. This project is based in the Sigatoka area and represents a fantastic opportunity to provide tangible benefits and assistance to the local community in general, and schools in particular.  Bring out your carpentry skills and join the community construction project.

In addition to the basic project, you could assist with landscaping, painting local schools, and classroom renovations. Many of the schools we work with do not have the funds to renovate their classrooms or build libraries and resource centers, which is where you can come in. In the past, we even built a library for a village school.  Thousands of families live in substandard housing in many areas of Fiji, and children attend school in crumbling structures.  Our construction project will allow them to relocate to newer, higher-quality housing, and the children will be able to attend school in safe, new classrooms. On average, you will work on the project for 6 hours per day.
