Description

Program Description

Throughout your participation in this program, you will have the valuable opportunity to work closely with young children, ranging from 3 to 6 years old, at various kindergartens and primary schools situated in the Monduli region. As per the local requirements, your placement will be decided amongst a kindergarten, child care center, or primary school, specifically within the first two grades. Class and group sizes may vary between 10 and 30 children, making your additional support incredibly valuable to the local staff.

In your role, you will join forces with local staff members and educators as you assist them in effectively managing their classes. Furthermore, you will be granted the chance to take on leadership roles within groups and design your own engaging activities for the children—think along the lines of drawing, coloring, and playing games. Let your creativity shine!

Ultimately, your main objective is to help these children enhance their English language skills through artistic expression and interactive activities. Encourage them to participate in storytelling sessions, recite poems, sing songs, and engage in fun-filled games that foster language development.

Although English is a prevalent subject taught in Tanzanian schools, the scope for practicing it can be rather scarce in certain rural regions. Gaining proficiency in the English language can significantly enhance the future prospects and living standards of numerous local children, equipping them with better opportunities and chances for success. As a result, it is imperative that these young learners receive ample resources and chances to hone their skills in English to help them thrive academically and professionally.
