Building Project Ghana

Assist underserved communities in Ghana in improving infrastructure and amenities and help locals with much-needed construction, repairs, and renovations.

Our projects are driven by community needs. As a result, you could be renovating a school, building a house, or building a community center. Whatever phase of a project you join, you can be confident that your contribution will be long-lasting and greatly appreciated.

Program Description

By participating in a construction project, you will bring the (wo)manpower required to power the construction.  Projects are chosen based on community needs. As a result, a wide range of projects are generated. Education and sanitation are usually at the top of the priority list, but we are also looking for volunteers to help with recreational projects like pitch flattening and community centers. These often provide a great focal point for the community

You will be part of a group of other participants and locals who will all work together to achieve a common goal. The Ghanaian workers are skilled and know how to use local materials, so they will serve as your guide and, no doubt, teach you many “tricks of the trade,” ensuring that the construction is completed quickly and efficiently. The tasks vary according to the projects, but keep in mind that this is physical labor. There will be days that are difficult because they are strenuous, but do not be discouraged. All of the projects are suitable for people of average physical fitness, and you will never be forced to do anything you do not want to do. You will probably discover that being outside and working as a team is a fun and truly rewarding experience!

Hence, Your main roles can or will include:

  • Assist in the construction and renovation of community infrastructure.
  • Help and assist in the construction or renovation of schools, classrooms, or playgrounds.
  • Build and renovate communal facilities.
  • Paint school and other buildings.
  • Repair and work with wood and furniture building and renovating materials.
  • Digging and assembling construction Materials.

Please be advised that the daily transportation costs to and from your program are not included and must therefore be paid by yourself throughout the course of your stay. Those costs may range from 2 – 5 Euros per day.

Additional Requirements

  • In order to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants in the program, certain measures have been put in place, particularly for specific age groups. Those who are older are required to obtain medical clearance, as this acts as a precautionary measure to ascertain their physical ability to partake in potentially strenuous activities. Similarly, participants who are under 18 years old must have a signed parental consent form, as this guarantees that their parents or guardians are aware of their involvement and approve of their participation. Due to the active nature of the program, it is essential for all participants to possess a decent level of fitness since a significant portion of the activities will take place outdoors under the heat of the sun. By adhering to these requirements, the program organizers can maintain an enjoyable and safe environment for everyone involved.
  • It is required that you have a yellow fever vaccination and obtain a certificate as proof. You may be asked to produce this certificate at the point of entry into Ghana, and you can be refused entry if you don’t have one. • There’s no need for special gear in this exciting program, yet we highly recommend rocking some sturdy shoes, cozy work attire, and always keeping refreshing hydration or bottled water at hand!
