Description

Program Description

The children at the kindergarten are about 4 to 5 years old. They will all be excited to new participants, and exceptionally welcoming, partly due to the natural and genuine friendliness of all Balinese, especially children, but also due to the fact that they have not met many westerners. By assisting the local staff, participants will increase the confidence of the children and teach them better English which will help them in so many ways in the future.

The kindergarten project, like kindergartens throughout the world, is informal, and the children will want to play, more than be ‘taught’ in a formal sense. This program demands that you love children and understand their behavior, as you will be surrounded with loads of them every day and their friendliness can sometimes become over exuberant, but they are children after all.

However, simply by getting them enthused about coming to school and giving them some very basic English phrases such as simple greetings, you may well have sown the seeds of a lifelong learning habit and doing a great and enjoyable job in the process.

Besides teaching, you will also support the local staff with the care taking of the children. This task can range in activities, from organizing classes, playing games and guiding activities to feeding, cutting nails, combing hair and so on. You are also expected to actively join other activities and of course to enjoy and make the most of your stay and make memorable learning experiences.

Please note that the Kindergarten Project will be closed during school break (June, July, August and December).

Besides that, you may also have the best time throughout your stay as you will engage in fun, relaxing and recreational activities held after a long day of your program alongside other participants.

Finally, you can not miss every single weekend experiencing nearby scenic views and historic places around Bali, especially ist pristine beaches and crystal clear waters. Thus, we will make sure to assist you in organizing your weekend getaways and enjoy every bit of your time.
